With this activity we will be focusing on recognizing which zone you are in and practicing some calming activities.

Zone Bingo

Practice identifying which zone you are in throughout the week! As you recognize how you are feeling throughout each day, mark it down on the bingo board! Once you have filled all the spaces for everything you felt throughout the week, send it back to me via email!

Bonus points: In your reading activities, fill out a “Zones Bingo” card for each character in the book you are reading. Have a discussion about which zone the character was in at those times and why.

Calming activities

This week when you are in the yellow or red zone, feeling nervous, frustrated, angry or confused, try out these activities to help yourself get back into the green zone!

  • Slow, rhythmical back and forth movement (rocking chair, swing)

  • Quiet environment

  • Dim lights 

  • Soft or calming music

  • Lavender or vanilla smells

  • Noise reduction headphones

Calming activities:

  • Take a walk outside

  • Go get a drink of water

  • Do some stretching

  • Get a snack

  • Take a break and do something you enjoy doing, like coloring or reading
