This week

In order to improve fine motor skills, we have created these activities to work on at home. In order to improve handwriting and fine motor skills, we have put together this activity to practice at home. Have your child try their hand at coloring or painting with a focus on staying inside the lines! Your child can use one of their favorite coloring books, color in a hand drawn image or download one of these coloring pages we have provided below! Make sure to make notes on how your child did, what went well and what didn’t. I will follow up to discuss and make adjustments to your child’s activities as needed! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions, comments or concerns.

I find that standard crayons work best for at home projects with little hands!

Tips

Having trouble staying in between the lines?

Help your child by making the lines thicker with a thick black marker.

Breaking crayons or pressing down too hard?

Take a break from coloring to play with some PlayDoh, slime or combination of flour and water turned into a dough. Encourage your child to squeeze, roll out and poke into the dough or mixture of your choosing. After a few minutes, try out the coloring again!

Having trouble holding the crayon or brush?

Try using a wider crayon, marker or brush handle. If you do not have one, send me an email and I can walk you through the steps to build up a grip that may help your child.
